But how will doctors then be able to afford the mcmansions then? Literally every single doctor I have known in USA is obsessed about money only and dont give a hoot abt the hippocratic oath.

I think the story here is how health care services are purchased. Purchasing healthcare services is a commodity that is quite different than say, buying a car. First, if a true medical emergency involving transportation by an ambulance, you have NO choice in which hospital the ambulance crew takes you to.
If that hospital happens to be IN network for your medical insurance provider, GREAT, you'll most likely will survive the financial hit. But, if the hospital happens to be OUT-OF-NETWORK, you are quite literally financially S-C-R-E-W-E-D. Some for-profit hospitals employ teams of the nastiest pit bull collection lawyers you'll ever come up against to make good and GD sure you and your family pay the hospital every dime they say you owe them. The fact that you may be recovering from a severe illness matters not to these pit bulls. I've seen patients appear in court on walkers, in wheel chairs, etc as defendants to civil lawsuits brought by hospitals while the healthy-as-a-horse pit bull lawyer cuts them into financial RIBBONS. |

BTW, the judges in these matters don't give a ***** about your health or your financial condition, either. They'll jerk you out of your wheelchair then turn you upside down and shake every nickel out of your pants they can get....

Medical Co$t$
Wow ~ I'm glad I chose kaiser ~ yes, they flat killed two of my workmates wives in post op but they've always tried hard and in the big picture done well by me .
When I had one of my near fatal Moto crashes, I was transferred from the initial hospital after being stabilized, this was maybe 12 miles and co$t $3,000.00 . My thought was : 'I coulda bought and re rehabilitated a rig, hired attendants to drive me then sold the rig for less than 1/4 that much but when you're needing emergency medical help, you're sorts stuck with what you get .

I mean a decent wage is certainly understandable. One would think $150k would be good.

Sorry for her, in CA if she was an illegal from south of the border she would get free medical care, and free attorneys to sue whoever injuried her.

I think the $20,243 bicycle accident was the bill from the hospital.
Even if you managed to get doctors to work for free, the US is still an extreme cost outlier. And their office staff isn't likely to work for free.
