Bah. I'd rather buy a nice, clean late 70's International Scout, and spend about $15k to cherry it up...

If you’re looking for beauty the G wagen is not it. In fact most MB’s are not it. Function over form.

Couldn’t agree more!

I fully expect that they are indeed good off-road.

Post G-Wagens & IHC Scouts

When I lived in Guatemala in the mid 1970's G-Wagens were well loved for going through the jungle .

In the 1960's in rural New England the Scout was very good too but they have some serious design faults that lead to rusting out even in Los Angeles....

Yesterday I noticed a cherry Scout in that beige used my Toyota right now, it looked glorious ~ mirror finish paint and LED headlamps, slightly lifted and not stupidly huge tires .

I hope to never need a 4X4 again, if I do it'll prolly be a tiny Lada Niva or old Jeep CJ5, MB or CJ2(a) with tiny engine and skinny tires as I learned way back when that going slowly meant you got there without getting stuck nor beating the machine to death .

Agreed....as far as SUV/CUVs go, the GLC Coupé is the first one that I really fell in love with. Much better looking than the BMW X4, however i never would have gotten it if it still had the command system. MBUX brought the infotainment system up to date.
