Sobering stuff. And probably all of those galaxies composed of billions of stars. I’d say the chances are pretty good that at least one star in the mega billions in that cluster support life similar to what we know. But there is no way we are ever going to know about it.

When I was young Sagan's "Cosmos" was my main interest in life. I was blown away by the series and particularly fascinated by the speculations on possible other worlds. At the time there were no known extra solar planets and I think Sagan died before any were found.
Massive contrast with today where technology has advanced to the extent that the speculations contained in the series are starting to be fleshed out with actual discoveries of ever increasing numbers of such worlds. I'm not convinced that this means we are not alone biologically, but it does increase the evidence for the possibility of life beyond Earth. - Peter.

I watched this documentary in the 1960s about life from other galaxies, they came and were HUNGRY !
 .
