Hunkering Down at the Lake

We are hunkered down at home so I decided to do something outdoors away from folks. I bought a beautifully kept, always garaged 19’, 1999 model Ranger Bass boat. I did a good bit of Bass fishing many years ago, but it doesn’t match up very well with someone working full time so I drifted away from it for various reasons. Now I have the time and am very close to one of the best big bass lakes around, Lake Fork, number 26 in the US.

I am putting it at my daughters lake house where they have an extra boat lift in the boat house so it will be out of the water and out of the weather when not in use. It is on a good lake very near Lake Fork, so it won’t be difficult when not fishing the local lake to load up and trailer to Lake Fork.

Being able to fish during the week when the lake isn’t so crowded will be a nice change. I think this will be a real good way to be safe from the virus without staying cooped up in the house. I’ll keep y’all posted regarding my fishing success.

Cool your jets Sid. The probability of giving or getting in the middle of a remote lake approaches zero.

Do you live in a hermetically sealed basement in your mom's house?

Traveling to the lake, not being within a hundred feet of anyone else and outdoors is not exactly high virus risk and is not in violation of the law.

Have you ever launched a boat? That said, my wife will be with me, but she probably won’t participate in the launch.

I think the point of a lockdown has been missed here.

And that point is something other than staying away from others and surfaces where they might have left the germs?
