My teacher the octopus
Very cool documentary about a South African Diver and an octopus. He 'befriends' this octopus and he documents her life over the period of a year. The photography is amazing an the story is quite touching. I have always been fascinated with octopi and this story just reinforces that fascination.
It's on Netflix and I found segments on YouTube as well.

What is astonishing is the degree of intelligence of a creature so bizarrely different from humans which suggest it's both innate and subject to a steep learning curve considering its short life span.
When interacting with them one can't but come away with the uncanny sensation that they engage in "play".

The fact that it is a 'simple' creature and yet unarguably very intelligent and capable of learning and figuring things out is fascinating to me. He compares their intelligence to that of a dog or cat.
