Thumbs up FATHER'S DAY 2022

Thank you, it was .

We were on vacation in Indio, Ca. with out Foster boys and I wasn't pushed to do much of anything - I took my Sweet to the casino and out to eat, she tried to give me some money and I said no thanks, the rest of the day was spent relaxing and reading, napping and munching as befits an old man .

Sadly my son was out of state enjoying his speed boat on the Colorado River with his family, that's right and proper too .

Our youngest daughter put a very nice post on facebook about me. The wife noticed it and read it to me. Then that daughter came by later after we returned home. Another sent a message she could not be down to the coast until the 2nd of July.

I suspect with my age the daughters think I may not be around that much longer they understand. Not unreasonable in reality. I spent most of the day reading and looking out over the ocean and watching the clouds. Kind of spectacular some days.

I ass-U-me you enjoy the sound of the ocean ? .

I don't like water / the ocean but the _sound_ of water I find ever so calming .

Yes it is a regular distinct background sound. It does possibly enhance the ability to get to sleep even. Something about the salt water air coming ashore as well. You sleep very deep in that enviroment it seems. Or at least i do. It also makes the very early mornings seem very different.

Post Sleeping And Sounds

Water in any motion is always relaxing to me, rain, in the forest, on tin roof, in a brook, ocean waves lapping against the sore ~ it's all very soporific to me .

I tried a noise machine but the tiny (? 3" ?) speaker sounds so tinny it's worthless to me .

I remember when raising up orphan animals I'd wrap a wind up clock in a towel and put it next to them, they'd cuddle it and pass right out .

I think rhythmic sounds are the key here .

Often I'm trying to sleep when the lights are on or there's a lot of ancillary light so now I'm trying one of those sleep mask things to cover my eyes , seems to work okay .
