I had that 85 500 sec. What a lovely car to drive. It is as reliable as a diesel and was seriously quick....bags of torque. really only downside is the huge door getting in and out in a pull in space with a car next to you..

IDK if I'll get another W126. If I do I think it would be an AMG coupe. I'm loving my 280SE and I'm finding the parts support to be pretty good. As much as I like the R129 between the plastics and computers and Mercedes doing the NLA on a lot of parts I don't think its going to be a long term car for me. I'll see how next year goes I might sell it for an R107 or maybe a brand new SL if I can get a good lease.

Thr NLA action is not good. I like the SDL, mine needs a little bit of work on the tranny but the engine is excellent. Seriously fast.

Speaking of W126 coupes and old members of MS, JimB, Dee8go, & I had a meet up I forget, maybe 10, 12 years ago in SF. Jim had a W126 coupe, it was fast as hell, I think it was the AMG what, 560? JimB moved onto the great junkyard in the sky a few years back.
