It is pretty neat how you can see the bullet strike the surface and then compress and disintegrate. If you go to the 19:30 mark or so they are shooting a glass globe and they seem to detect a shock wave just below the surface of the glass that is traveling at about mach 40 or 40,000 feet per sec. The clarity and detail of what the camera detects is amazingly detailed and crisp.

I have to wonder how they can get a bullet moving that fast. A depleted uranium 50 caliber tank killing bullet "only" travels at 3000 ft./s

I was curious, I did a web search on the speed of light in FPS, here is what I got:

983,571,056.4 feet per second.

I guess it's pretty obvious that a bullet is not gonna travel about 1/49th the speed of light. I wasn't really familiar with the shock wave traveling at high-speed. It's an interesting discussion at any rate.
