1996 or 1997 E320 ?

I am considering both of these years.

Can you help with any opinions and /or supporting info.

Both years have the same engine - a 3.2 liter DOHC in-line 6-cylinder engine, engine code M104.

I may be wrong, but I think the only difference between 96 and 97 is the transmission. I believe 1997 has the 5 speed automatic, whereas the 96 has a 4 speed automatic.
