Armor All on treads?

http://www.is300.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13317178

Just in case it gets Farked here is what the Rocket scientist had to say.

It was wet out (yes, I had trac off) and lost the back end in the right hander near my dad's house. I hit the a tree pretty hard with passenger side rear door. Fortunately, I'm OK and nobody else got hurt. It was pretty dark so it was hard to tell how focked the car was.

I know I'll get flamed for asking this, but yesterday I got new tires (S-03). Last night, I washed my car. I armor all'ed the sidewalls and thought since the tires were new I would put armor all over them so the whole tire would be jet fockin' black. It looked hella sweet. You guys don't think this might have caused my wreck, do you? I know Armor All is a little slick but I wonder if there was something else wrong with the tires also, or something?

Wow, a 16 year old got an IS300. Oh well, his parents will probably write a check to fix it and he will probably be on the road again in 3 weeks, and be stuck in a Toyota Camry "loaner" until then.

Some people.....

Well, I bet the towtruck guy thought those treads looked pretty focking good as he pulled it up onto the flat deck.

I used to dress the ENTIRE set of tires (tread and all) on my VW when it was on display at car shows...and yeah, it hampered adhesion, but only for the few seconds it took to leave the display area...kinda like the loss of traction you get when you leave the car wash. And THAT only happens if attempting an adolescent "tire burnout" while exiting the lot!

If he dressed his tires at his Dad's house where the accident occurred, then more than likely he was attempting a stupid tire burnout...coupled with the wet pavement, the Armor All may have helped things along, but I believe stupidity was the defining scientific factor in this one...
