Then there's the idiots that never turn OFF their blinkers! but that's a whole other thread altogether.
I use them per the rules. Drivers Ed was not wasted on me. But one night a few years ago, I didn't. I was coming home late one night. There wasn't another car in sight. Anywhere. I made a turn without signaling. Next thing I know, I see this car following me. It stayed a ways back for a couple miles. I know the "waste of a police force" cops we have in our town. I knew I was being followed by one one "them". Sure enough, just before I got to the city limits, he catches up and hits the lights. I pull over with some rather hard braking. It had been a bad day, I was in no mood for one of our stupid cops with nothing better to do. "You didn't signal back there". I wasn't real pleasant with him. He let me off with a warning.
I signal everywhere, anywhere, anytime.... now.:p

rickg-
I thought that the only time someone was pulled over for not using blinkers was on the TV show COPS. And then - it usually turns into a car chase!

Ok, I'll admit, there are times when I forget to use my turn signals. I would say my useage is at about 85%. I have a good friend that often rides with me, and it seems her sole purpose for being with me at the time is to remind me when I forget to use the signals.

I get frustrated with people that leave their turn signals on and forget about them. Actually, it drives me up the wall and I don't know why. I've rented a few GM cars, and I notice that those cars now have a little, quiet, 'ding, ding, ding' when the turn signals are on for more than what the car considers a normal amount of time.

I guess that GM design rejects decided that the sound wasn't loud enough. I had a Chuvit Lumina rental car while the Saturn was getting warranty work done. I thought that some kind of catastrophic mechanical failure was imminent for the car with the cataclysm of bonging eminating from that heap. No, I hadn't just left the signal on, there was a lenghty line of cars ahead of me at an intersection, and I got to wait several minutes before I got a turn through the intersection.

As for my turn signal use, yes I use them - most of the time. I'm only human and I do forget to signal on occasion.
