Feels Like Summer

The warm weather is wreaking havoc on our Minnesota lifestyle. It hasn't once dropped below 10 degrees here and it's going to be 47 F here today. People are scrambling for time trying to get their icehouses off the lakes. Hockey games have been cancelled, and who knows what will happen to the winter carnival this year. The snowmobile drag races which normally occur around this time have been cancelled and the sled dogs are starting to shed their coats....

This is one warm winter.

As much as I dislike snow and winter weather in general (what good is snow in the plains?), it's easy to forget that there are parts of the world that have winter activities, and the lack of "optimal" weather can have an impact, socially and economically.

I have enjoyed the 60+ temps during the holidays down here! I hate taking down Xmas decorations when it's bitter outside!

As I recall, last winter was pretty warm too. Wasn't something like 40*F when we had lunch last January? That makes two warm winters in a row.

I took my Christmas lights down wearing shorts and bare feet. Just was careful not to step on the light bulbs

And a reminder to those who need it to perodically run your air conditioner.

Living here on the Jersey Shore...the winter weather really sucks!!!! Last winter was our third warmest winter in history. This winter beacuse of El Nino, we have had quite a few snowy days. Not much here at the shore..just a couple of inches. However, my mom in Phila, has had an exceptional amount of snow for the winter. I remember very well winter carnival when I was in grad school at Universirty of Wisconsin. The winters were COLD and the time were GREAT!!! I too went ice fishing out there. I am also an advid ice sailor. I have not been able to sail here in 12 years as the bay has not frozen over and travel to Budd Lake for ice, about 2 hours away. I live on the bay, so when the it freezes, I'm ready! Current temp here is 29 and light snow showers for tonight!

Mid-fifties and sunny here right now. We usually are 40's and raining right now. I'm sure it'll get back to that soon.
We used to get our first snow in the Seattle area by late nov or early dec. Haven't seen snow that early for 4 or 5 years now. Kinda spookey!

Its been in the 80's here in los angeles.

Gotta love that california sun.

Of course I'd love for it to snow here, but you wwould never catch me drivign int he snow in los angeles, less I would want to be in an acident or killed.

People here drive badly enough when it rains, imagine snow and ice!

that el niņo is doing a number on our globally warmed state. this morning was a mess in front of my house. it gets busy because of local diverted traffic and a school close by. the wetness turned to ice and was lightly covered with a crust of snow. in spite of the crossing guard doing her best to slow people down, there was still a fender bender. people just don't know how to drive in the winter anymore! i have my snows on, and despite their ugliness, i gotta admit that they work...

Hey Ashman, looks like some of the dust from yesterday's Wind Storm, got stuck in your keyboard. I had the same problem a few days ago when I spilled some juice on mine.

I am on the beach and it was 84 F at 1:30PM..........what the F&#@ is up with this!

It's 75 F here at 6:10 PM, I had my AC on in the car today!

Please someone make it stop!
