What We Will Not Hear From The President Tonight

In George W. Bush’s third State of the Union message we will NOT hear …

-That people who complain about tax cuts for the rich should go get a job from a poor person.

-Any plans to eliminate one single government spending program, let alone one major government department.

-That it was the goal of our founding fathers to limit government as much as practicable, not to expand it as much as possible.

-That France is a main component of the Axis of Wimps and that the American taxpayers are, and should be weary of bailing out this ungrateful nation every time they hear a bump under their unkempt beds.

-That the key to improving our nation’s government schools is not to spend more money, but rather to reduce the power of teacher’s unions and return to teaching basics.

-That another key to improving education is to give parents the choice of using their hard-earned money to send their children to a school chosen by them, not by politicians.

-That it was a mistake to create 60,000 new government employees by federalizing airport security screeners.

-That interns are now safe in the White House.

-That many of the problems we are having with North Korea are the result of six years of inattention by the Clinton administration.

-That the United States is a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy, and that democracies are unstable and enemies of personal liberty.

-That, contrary to the bleatings of Teddy Kennedy, Bush celebrates the concept of the individual over the collective whole.

-That logic and common sense would dictate that a person who does not pay federal income taxes is not entitled to an income tax break.

-That any reduction in Social Security or Medicare taxes for one individual only means an increase in Social Security and Medicare taxes for another. In other words, that the Democrat cries for “payroll” tax cuts is just another income redistribution scheme.

-That our founding fathers felt that in times of peace 95% of all government should come from the local level .. and that this is a concept that should be revised.

What a bonehead move by our federal gov't.

Most of these screeners........

A) don't even have a high school education

B) can't speak English (correctly)

C) will juice the system for everything they can.

Bill, do you have to quote the whole thing? Makes the page a million lines long. Almost as long as your list of cars!

I'm going to watch American Idol tonight, more laughs. Did you catch it last week? Some of them are REALLY bad!

DITTO!
Question: If you thought you could sing wouldn't someone somewhere tell you that you sucked at it before you even got anywhere near a national audience?

The other things you won't hear tonight:

" . . . and I'd like to recognize, up in the gallery tonight, those great role models and campaign contributors . . . Ken Lay, Martha Stewart . . ."

" . . . chairing the new presidential commission on affirmative action, Sen. Trent Lott . . ."

" . . . you know, maybe those German and French guys are right . . ."

" . . . America and England, the "Axis of Good" . . ."

" . . . new Federal legislation to get tough on dangerous snack foods, underage drinking and repeat drug offenders . . ."

There are lots of other things we will NOT hear from W tonight, but I'm not going to make a list, or copy one from somewhere else.
Bill is there a reason you picked the most trivial item on the list (yes, it came from Neal's site) and ignored the rest, even though you quoted the whole thing? Perhaps because there is a LOT of merit to the rest of the list?

Monica was not the only sexual fiasco Clinton was involved in...there were several accusations of harrassment and more...swept under the rug, of course..

Oh...by the way...why do so many people love to claim that the "war on terrorism" is a "failure", just because we haven't yet paraded through the streets of Manhattan with the head of Bin Laden on a stick? What about all the terrorists that we and other countries HAVE caught?! What about the fact that the Taliban has been removed from Afghanistan's government? What about the fact that there has not been another successful terrorist attack on our soil since 9-11? What about the fact that al-Queda has been decimated, disrupted, scattered, and rendered FAR less effective than they were a year and a half ago? What about all the sources of funding that we have cut off? Does none of this mean anything, just because we haven't produced the body of Usama yet?

He's the President, not a talk show host.

May have stuff going on we don't and won't know about ... may be for a good reason that we won't know, either.

Well, let's see..I'll go down your list....

Can you name ONE president who did not have some campaign contributors with "questionable" morals or credibility? You can't be held responsible for the future actions of everyone who gives you money.

Affirmative action should no longer exist. It is an insult to all minorities, encourages mediocrity, attempts to create "diversity" at the expense of students who study hard to maintain academic excellence, and it hurts the cause of most minorities far more than it helps.

No, the German and French guys are NOT right...Let's see...Germany was very effective at...allowing Hitler to rise to power and slaughter millions! Let's see...France was always really good at....SURRENDERING! So much for them...

America and England...well, somebody has to get the job done...It sure isn't going to be France!

Dangerous snack foods? Underage drinking? Sounds a lot like PARENTAL responsibilies to me!!! Is it the President's job to raise your kids? I don't think so...

Repeat drug offenders...If there is no victim, there is no crime. Drugs would be a TINY problem, if the "war on drugs" did not make them into a HUGE problem.

Whoa . . Mike, I was hoping you'd see some of the humor in my post. If you didn't, well sorry about that, I'll try harder next time the President almost puts the VP in charge because of a pretzel.

Eberhard,

How do you support that "opinion", when the US only gets less than 2% of our oil from Iraqi sources, a pretty insignificant amount? If oil could even remotely be considered our motivation, there are other countries that would be much better targets!

Hahahaaa...Funny! How can "communist organizations" post such signs? Aren't criticizing your government and self-expression considered crimes in "communist" regimes?

Sometimes you don't have to call a fool a fool. You just have to shut up and let them keep talking.

By good reason!

Mathematics of world economy work different. Interesting to know, that you still buy oil from Saddam. I thought, you hate that guy.

Anyway. There is a worldwide market for oil. And if not the US, somebody else is going to trade the iraq oil (the iraq has, btw, some of the richest oil fields in the world)

Thats what Bush is pissed about. Not the weapons (he doesn't care, the US is one of the biggest producer and trader of arms on this planet), not the human rights (what the heck, a country, which seriously introduces the Homeland Security Act lost any authority to evaluade anybody elses human rights situation ) , no, it all boils down to controlling power about natural resources.

Since WW II this has been the power behind pretty much every act of foreign affairs of the US.

Sorry, that the e.g. the French try to follow their own interest.

Kind regards
Eberhard
(who find it rather difficulty to put post war world economics into one posting)
