Not to DisAgreE but I thought GTG meant got to go. Like when you are chatting and you type in GTG when it was time to go? Maybe I'm old school? I dread the day my quiver quits.

Alrighty then!!
GTG=Get ToGether, I.E. a gathering of a gaggle of mercedes for the purpose of sharing each others' pride and joy, and thus promoting a further understanding of our similar obsessions.

I'm with rick on this. to me it has always meant Get ToGether, but I can see how got to go works too.

Its a GTG you have GTG to.

I'm offended by an inflamatory rhetoric of this thread.
Please close it.

I don't feel any inflamation in my rhetoric! I take the blue pill every morning and it keeps the swelling down :p

I think GTG is actually used by many "Instant Messenger" users as shorthand for "got to go"...But obviously on this forum it usually means "get together".

I found Spock's description much more interesting... But, I'm a Star Trek geek, so....

I've only ever seen 'g2g' used for 'got to go' when chatting, but that's just me.
