Howd Volkl42,
It's always hard to loss a member of the family. Just about a week ago we had to put down the Great Dane

Ibiza was a great dog and she will be missed dearly. She used to sleep at the foot of my bed much of the way through grade school and all of HS. We've had plenty of dogs in our house. I think it is a good experience for children. Our first dogs taught me a lot about death as a child, and helped me understand. If that makes any sense.

I have two labs, one who is a purebred english white lab who is the biggest baby, but he has the most amazing face and fur. he is 10 years old, but his face still looks like a puppy.

My other lab is white, but he is not purely white, he has a bit of yellow/gold in some of his hair, but otherwise he is all white. He loves tennis balls, loves to eat them, and is usually found carrying not one, but two in his mouth.

Both dogs are extremely smart, and listen well, but they have gotten quite lazy over the years. they like to lie in the driveway in the sun during the day, and like to lie next to each other at night for warmth.

But most of all, they love getting attention.

Alon

I have a German Shorthair Pointer. If they aren't the ugliest dogs on the face of the earth, they certainly come in second place. I usually call her "Double Ugly" even though the name on her papers is "Sadie Mae."

They might be ugly, but German Shorthairs have increased their popularity in this country exponentially due to their intelligence and great disposition. That's not to mention that she was the easiest to train Quail dog that I've ever had. My previous Quail dogs have been Brittany Spaniels, English Setters and Pointers. Although all of them were "birdy" (good instinct for their job) they were often hard headed and unruly, maybe with the exception of the Brittany which was the greatest pet we've ever had in our family.

Have a great day,

Very observant Mr. Morris! The "Rat" was named so by Teddy Roosevelt. Breeders in Great Britain crossed the Smooth Fox Terrier with the Manchester Terrier in 1820. The dog came to the U.S. in 1890 and was crossed with the Whippet. Bred as a farm vermin controller, one famous Rat Terrier is credited with killing 2,501 barn rats in just seven hours! They are very quick and agile, yet obedient and affectionate.

Ugly Pointer!?¡¿

Howdy Larry,
Ah come on Larry I think you are being a little hard on the German Shorthair Pointer Nicely built and muscular dog. OK maybe the color might not be all that great There are several hairless breeds that can put the Pointer to shame when it comes to ugly

Howdy L. Nimoy,
Since you don't have a dog you should read my earlier post; People without dogs. And it won't bother your spider

Hi Frank ; I wish we could show our poodles but both my wife and I are too busy running www.lovemypoodle.com and having fun . It`s almost a full time job traveling and grooming just to be competetive now days (exept for the rich) . We have a eighteen month mini female that is primarly black but brindled with white and silver named Coco . She is very curious . We also have a eighteen month toy male poodle named Toffee that is solid brown and is show quality . Both parents champions . My wife and I decided at fourty-five to get out of the rat race and start a dot com that would be fun and we could take days off and work only when we wanted to . We both left significant jobs behind and wished we had done this ten years earlier . Life is sweet ! Going to Maui in two weeks !

I have 1 very silly Greyhound named Simon. He will be 7 in July, and I've had him 4 years now. He , like all the Greyhounds here, is a retired racer. I guess he was slow for a Greyhound, but still damn fast for a dog!
