Question CD burner upgrade Recommendations?

Okay, so I work in the media, so I feel pretty dumb. But I work in TV, not computers and since the two are increasingly getting closer, I'm trying to get more computer smart.

Here's my question:

I need to upgrade the CD copier on my computer so that I can store pictures (especially from PhotoShop) onto disc. Right now I have Roxio's basic edition which allows me to merely make music CDs. To upgrade to be able to store pictures, make MP3s and all is the deluxe edition for around $70.

Is this a good buy? Are there better editions by other companies out there? I'll ask my other TV gurus, but have gotten great computer advise here before.

Thanks for any help!!

Nero works well, some people prefer CDRWIN, I think for ease of use, functionality and features, roxio works just fine. My dell came with it, but I have the deluxe version, and cdrwin, and nero, I like nero and roxio best. If I had to choose just one, I'd go with the roxio over nero for ease of use, even though nero is easy to use, roxio gives you a good array of programs to work with to make your project.

I use Roxio, and find it reliable. No coasters yet, after boxes and boxes of CD's. The software seems crash proof, too.

I use ahead Nero...I like it better than Roxio...Nero seems to be more straightforward and solid...afterall, it is German...

Thanks Guys! I'll go with Roxio. I have a Dell as well and it came with the basic version. I can get the deluxe by simply clicking online.

Thanks again.

Sounds good, but I don't know what an ftp is. I have DSL at my house, though.

FTP

FTP-File Transfer Protocol

This is a means of transferring data over networks using defined ports .It is computer jargon but its really what the whole internet and all dat download going on back and forth is based on.

So basically what maximus needs to do is tell us the ip address of the server he wants us to log unto and user account then we can get the files on our machines and with ur DSL ,this shld come down in a jiffy.

You need to launch a browser window and type "ftp://username@ipaddress" and then press enter.

username is usually "anonymous" and ipaddress usually takes d form of "xx.xx.xx.xx"

Hope dis has been of some help

later
