Cheap Foods

What are your favorite inexpensive foods? Many people like beans, others like stews, what do you like that is really cheap but delicious?

Did you ever wonder . . . how they can manufacture a food product fit for human consumption, package it, ship it from Asia, pay all the middlemen and handling charges, mark it up and still sell it for $0.10 per unit? Hmmmm.

MaMa is a thailand product right? i lived off those when i grew up there. there was a story about a guy who ate like a bunch of uncooked ones, it later expanded in his stomach and killed him. it might have been a urban myth tho.

here's what i use to do. crunch it up and and pour the powered in. and you got pork flavored chips!. i know it sounds disgusting.

Howdy All,
Here is something you can make for a group. You need a one gallon pot or bigger and a frying pan that can hold about 3 pounds of hamburger. I pound bag of elbow macaroni. One can of cream of mushroom soup. This is a big can over 64oz. One of those small baskets of sliced mushrooms. Cook the hamburger in the frying pan. Cook the mac. in the big pot with enough water to cover the mac.( remember that the mac will expand). Drain the water then throw everything in the big pot and there you go. That is the basic stuff you can throw other things in also.

Another vote for the ole' mac and cheese. Kraft easy mac is awesome. Five minutes from opening the package to stuffing face.

I've never had a chip buttee but I hear they're all the rage in the UK.

As for myself, I can't go wrong with Spam. In fact I wish there was another derogatory term for unsolicited email.

If you're gonna do the Rammen noodle thing, might as well spring the whole fifty to sixty cents for the good stuff - Sapporo Ichiban (#1 Soup). Good stuff.

Kraft Mac Cheese, love it, one box as a meal, best with cayenne pepper added during the final mix.

Tina's Red Hot Beef burritos. Can find them on sale for 4/$1 most of the time. Fast nuclear food, that will keep the body going (I survived on 4 a day for a year after a nasty divorce and only lost about 10 pounds - my $1 a day diet).

Though I am anoyed by them sometimes, as they take around 5mins to cook, and not the 2minutes suggested on the pakage

Another vote for kraft mac & cheese. Love mac and cheese but there is something aluring about the flourecent yellow powder cheese! Also like McDonalds Bigmacs & Taco Hell, and canned chili as well. Let me add chili dogs w/cheese!

Watched a program on the Food network, and they were discussing the extensive R&D that went into the decision of what color to make the stuff!

Kraft knew what they were doing, because it really is part of the appeal of their Mac n Cheese!

Mac & cheese....but try adding some sliced/chopped up tomatos with a bit of pepper(just plain old ground black pepper), or we use a seasoning called "Johnny's". (Not sure if that's available everywhere.)
