My Wife Is Tired Of Being The Security Guard

I've looked on the internet and did a search on here, and I am unable to pick a security system for my 1994 sl500. I would rather spend more money and get it done right, but which system. The local guy said no way! I've driven to two stores each hour and half away in different directions and every place in between, and I do not feel good about what they try to sell me, they have never installed one in a mercedes or look like kids with a hobby. If I knew which system to use, then I could focus my attention on who installs that make. Any suggestions will be helpful even if what system or store to stay away from. I want to protect items in the car also. Thanks Dairel
