Question How much did you pay....

So I'm wondering how much everyones payed for there mb, and how much in mods. I payed $700 for my 85 190e. Im getting hooked up on the rust treatments and painting which will end up costing around $100-$200, which is super good. Other than rust its almost flawless, some engine troubles.

I paid $2500 minus the cost to fly out there and drive the car back, so in the end I think the previous owner got $2000 for the car. I think it was a heckuva bargain; the car's stood up very well over the past year.

I don't have much in the way of mods, although I have put $700 into repairs (it shouldn't be as bad this next year)...I want to go to H4 headlights, install a CB, and re-do the air intake. I did rewire the fog lights so that they can come on without the headlights, but that was a freebie.

700$ US for the 306D, which was a bargain considering I lived in it for a few years.

1800$ US for the 220D from Germany.

I paid $4,900 for my '87 560SEL about two years ago which was over $2K less than anything else I was looking at at the time ('96 Chrysler LHS's since that was what I had been driving and liked). Rebuilding the transmission last month finally got me over the price I would have paid for anything else.

I got my '86 300E last year for a measly US$22000 -Yes that was TWENTYTWOTHOUSAND for a 17 year old Benz!
During the last year i have spent over $5000 in repairs, and there's more to come..

YIPES!!!

Eric, how long have you owned the car?

I paid around that same price for my 300D, and have put $700 into keeping the car going (not including fuel)...which I'm not complaining about. With fuel, that amounts to $0.11 per mile...I suspect that that number will go down over the course of the next year, given that, other than the guide rod mounts, the cruise control amp, and the fans (all of which I can live with), my car's good to go.

80 300D (in 2000) 306,000 km - $3300Cdn
88 300CE (in 2002) 214,000 km - $11,000Cdn
At the time the prices were below average , I've spent around $1500 on parts for the 300D and put 100,000 km on it . The money pit 300CE has consumed about $3000 in parts and labour in 15,000 km , but if I wasn't spending it on her I'd be spending it on a certain 67 Mustang that was a much deeper money pit.
