Car cover.

To keep them off without a cover, spread some newspapers on the car with some set moustraps (the spring kind) under the paper. Once the cat steps on a moustrap and and it snaps under it, it won't jump back up there. Curiosity is one thing, cars that bite are something else. The paper will prevent the cat getting caught in the trap.

Works to keep cats off counters and tables, too.

How you train depends on the gender of the cat. Is yours a male or female?

Its a male.

I was hoping you would say female because male is a lot harder to train. For female cat, get her to squat like a good girl. Gently pat her behind and at the same time say kitty, kitty, kitty---------. She will be trained in no time. But as for the male, this is where the degree of difficulty comes in. Get a wooden stick and get him to put his two front paws on the raised stick until he is fully stood up. Pat him on the behind and say kitty, kitty, kitty---------. He is only trained when you don't need the stick anymore and can stand up and pee on his own, so you can see it is much more difficult to train a male. But, of course, you can take the easy way by training your males as a female, but you may hurt his feelings;)
