Which car would you rather have and why? Pockets Rockets around 20k

I would choose the Dodge Neon SRT-4 since it has the best performance.

Ideally, the money spent on these cars would go into my Mercedes, but for the sake of the poll, I also picked the dodge, because its ummm.... the best looking, i think.

I agree with AustinsCE, except I picked the Volkswagen on the condition that it be equipped with a TDi instead of the 1.8l turbo g@$ engine.

In all honesty, I have a strong dislike for compact "performance" cars...I'd rather have a '60's muscle car (or take a DOdge Cummins pickup and BOMB the heck outta it )...

Just my $.02

Civic Si

Hondas never die. I used to have an 87 accord with 237k on it. I had to replace the alternator.

The Golf or the focus, even though I've driven the golf and it isn't as fun as it should be. Don't your ones get 180hp? Then i probably would.

Don't put down the 'hot hatchback' as it's known in the UK. More fun to be had in one of those than a muscle car. Well on british roads at least.

my 2 pence

I just raced the Golf, hatchback the other day, and i beat him off the line, in 2nd, 3rd 4th, never saw him, pretty sad, considering my cars only peformance mods are a powerchip and i probably weigh in 1000 pounds heavier with a 2.83 diff. (or is it 3.06, I've read both...) I dunno what the Dodges ratings are, but I bet nothing to warrant owning one, if the only reason to buy these cars is cheap performance, it aint working. I've yet to lose to anything deemed "rice" or compact.

I think the Focus SVT is a hot looking car

Besides, it's been getting pretty rave reviews!

If only they had sold the JDM Honda Accord (Acura TSX here) or the JDM Honda Integra Type-R I love the new Hondas. Not a fan of the old ones though :p

Then again it would probably cost more than $20k.

The Civic Si is just plain nasty looking IMHO.

I'd buy none of those & spend the 20K on a classic 911 - faster, prettier and no depreciation.

This is your car Austin. The differential is a 3.46.

I couldn't decide what I'd want but I'd never take a Chrysler. VW with TDi only, but its not on the list. Fine, I'll take the 1.8T!

the protege has consitently tested among the best handling cars in R&T's road tests. the turbo version maximizes that potential.

having said that - for the same kind of money i would get a saab 2000 9-5 aero off lease with low miles...

Hey I dont have a economy gauge!

You sure dslbnz, I think its a 3.06, some guy on this site sold his and it was 3.06. If it were a 3.46 I wouldnt be looking for ways to increase my performance, not as much anyway.
