Texas Cars passed Emission test
First my 92 400E passed with flying colors at 210K mi, Original cats and with muffler half rotted out. Still purrs like a kitten though and gets 17mpg city all day.
Then it was time to get the 93 500E inspected. I got a "check engine light " glitch to track down, so I reset the light via disconnecting the battery. They drove the car onto the "dyno roller" and the ASR gave them hell. I chuckled as the guy was approaching me(I knew he was going to ask about shutting it off). "Full time ASR" I replied....and chuckled again. So they bacically just did the test at RPM instead of the rolling test. Hey that's cool with me. Anyway they passed and that's that with that! Anyone know how the dealer et. al. does the "dyno"test on fulltime ASR cars?? |
