Something about "Kerry Did It" or the like. Actually there is legislation suggesting the murder of a pregnant woman is really a double murder. The bill has been dubbed the "Laci Peterson" Law. The anti-abortion crowd is hoping to leverage this bit of legislation to make the case that killing unborn children cannot be murder in one case and not in another. Kerry did not vote for the bill because he is Pro-Choice. So, GWB campaigners have played the fact that Kerry voted against the Laci Peterson Law from the perspective that he is against being tough on the bad guys. Not that it is a feature of an attack on women's right to choose. Just that Kerry, by implication, is a woman killer sympathizer. Not George's values, according to George. He would rather wait until your kids are 18 or older and then kill them. Jim

Abortion is murder, so maybe it is double murder.

Hmmm, maybe we should get rid of all the police forces in the states. We've had more than a thousand officers killed too.

Abortion is a nasty business, but I grew up when it was illegal, and I know why it is legal now. Unwanted pregnancies and young girls dying from septic abortions performed with coat hangers are an even nastier business. Its like drugs - you can make it illegal but your never going to stop it - desperate women are going to do desparate things. I would never go back to the world of the 60's, where women had a choice, but the choices were they either were forced to raise children they didn't want, often by themselves, guaranteeing a life of misery and poverty for all, or take a chance on bleeding to death in a hotel room after some hack butchered her.

Jim,
This is a good one!!!You should send it to Kerry or whoever runs against GW.

Murder still ocurrs even though it is illegal. Should we make it legal again?

Inconvienence is no reason to kill.

You don't have to be 18 to be killed by a terrorist.

KirkVining 07-13-2004 12:53 PM

Sure, let's make murder legal. I got an idea, let's pass a Congressional resolution to make murder legal. Oh, nevermind, thats been done.

Since the B team likes to use sports terms as they have claimed all sport fans to be on the B team, I'm surprised they have not jumped on the Kobe case.( should be lots of one liners for the houmor minded members of this fourm.)

Just currious. If abortion we to be considered “murder”, would you be in favor of prosecuting the doctor, mother and anyone else involved in the abortion on a capital offense punishable by the death penalty? After all, it was premeditated murder.

mplafleur 07-13-2004 10:27 PM

We don't have the death penalty here. But, uh, yes.

KirkVining 07-13-2004 10:32 PM

Curious value system. The taking of innocent human life by abortion is murder, while the taking of innocent human life by war is ok.

How in gods name could someone equate that abortion and war has any similarites? Now that is a strange mind........

Maybe the fact that in each scenario, people are killed at the hands of others? As I recall, the taking of another's life is wrong - a moral absolute, and not justifiable.

Bruce Hat 07-16-2004 10:32 AM

Of course taking a life is wrong. But comparing abortion and war is certainly a stretch. Politics excluded

KirkVining 07-16-2004 11:03 AM

The pro-life crowd yells "abortion is the taking of innocent human life!". Yet when an illegal war takes the life of tens of thousands of innocent people, the silence is deafening.

KyGuy 07-16-2004 11:48 AM

Illegal war?
