Then head to Coopers in Llanno or Mason. If you aint leavin the DFW metroplex I suggest Bodacious on division just south of the new cowboys stadium in Arlington. Please -This thread is NOT for corporate -cardboard tasting barbeque-Dickies, Springcreek, Riskies, etc.

I haven't tried Bodacious (but have heard it mentioned) was in Sanger last Friday and tried Smokey's. It worked for me.

Since we are on TX BBQ my all time favorite is Schoeps in Belton, TX Center St exit off I-35 That is some fine stuff - never found anywhere that appealed to my tastes like Schoeps.

Well I have to admit I have only had a half a chicken at coopers a few times-but a writeup in a trucktrend article recently refired the coopers as the ultimate "cosmic" experience and he started out in Dallas with Sonnybryans -which I consider cardboard.

Will try Schoeps ASAP...48mi from the farm to Belton.

Another decent BBQ place is Fat Boy's @ 57th & Scott in Temple. But, their briskit can be hit or miss sometimes.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

This thread should also include bad BBQ (non-corporate only) joints.

The BBQ place in Cyclone, TX: not worth the trip.
Circle-S in Cameron: terrible

Excellent! Look out for snakes.

Hey, look out for Euro bumpers that would fit my 115 too.

Obviously, Miguel cannot be trusted as he is giving up all my secrets.

The 240 ran a few years ago but has a blown head gasket or warped head. Was that way when I got it...I bought it only for the 5-speed which now resides in my wagon.

It's definitely a Euro and I think it must have been a dealer car or a special order of some sort. It's a 240 w/SLS, ACC and leather seats but has manual windows.

Bad rust in the quarter panels but the sills and jack points are all OK.

It's got a warning triangle and the weensie emergency fuel can as well...stamped w/the MBZ star.

MW -fitting name--The one here is prolly 2nd best "big city" joint in DFW coming after Bodacious near the new cowboy stadium. Bodacious barb-cue is named after a famous brahma bull that killed more than a few rodeo cowboys by throwing its head back and smashing their skulls!

By the way.....

Miserable Wells picked up that name in the middle 60's.

The Helo pilots that trained there for Veit Nam would take turns driving to Fort Worth where they could spend a few hours on Jacksboro Highway.

At one time there were 66 beer joints between 183 and the Lake Worth bridge.

Anybody here remember 'The Pink Elephant' on Camp Bowie Blvd?
