I've never been too impressed with the fuel mileage of my 16V and actually wondered if something was wrong with the way the car was set up. Typically I get 23 mpg which is a mix of around town and highway. This weekend I measured fuel mileage on a 340 mi stretch of highway only and was surprised to find I averaged 30.0 mpg at a steady 80 mph. 30% was 4th gear, 70% 5th gear. This is better than my 300 D which gets 25 mpg at the same speed. Everything must be okay afterall.

My foot must be heavier than yours. I've never gotten better than 25 MPG on the highway. Mixed driving I get around 21-22. Sounds like your car is running great!

My 16V gets only 9-11 mpg on the road!! ROAD Atlanta Or Robeling Road!!
