Suspension question 1999 C 280 Sport

I've done some reading up on this in here and wanted to get confirmation on something. I have read that some of you on various Mercedes models have run Eibach springs with Bilstein HD's. I've hear both arguments that you can can't do it. I already put HD's on my car about a month ago (didn't want to spend the money to lower because I thought I might sell soon, things have changed) and really want to get rid of my fender gap. I don't want my car slammed though. Can I successfully use Eibach Pro Kits on my car with HD shocks?? Their site says they will work with OEM ride height shocks and are designed to do so. I heard different from others (some say Sports are the only thing you can run without shooting the shocks out prematurely). What's the verdict on this?
