Anybody know if there are any differences among standard 94/95 W124 US spec headlamps, <93 500E Euro spec headlamps and 94/95 Euro spec E500 headlamps? I'm particularly curious whether 94/95 E500 headlamps have driving lamps instead of fog lamps.

Anyone with part numbers?

Thanks for all responses.

Virtually no difference in the 1994 & 95 W124 lights from US to Euro.

Part Number?

Thanks for the reply!

Would you have the part number and price for the Euro 94/95 E500 headlamps? Can you also confirm they have driving lamps instead of fog lamps?

Thanks!

The 500E/E500 has what they call auxillary High beams.

The lens looks different slightly than the regular 300e/e320/400e/e420 lights.

I have no idea on the part numbers, but if you find them let me know, because I want to put the 500E euro's on my car sooner or later.

lights on the expedition

I imported the Expedition from CA. Prior to the mods, everything was bone stock from a US version Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer. That was imported a year or so prior to Ford offering the Expedition over here.

I changed the front fascia and wheels to that of the SVT Lightning and blacked out all the chrome and fender flares. Dropped it about an inch all around as well.

I'm thinking of selling it and replacing it with a G class or a Range Rover. But first I have to finish all the mods I plan for the 500E.

Speaking of the G, Has anyone noticed that a lot more G's are around now? I have seen several G500's over the last few weeks, and I usually never see them except once in a while.

Your expedition sounds like it looks bad ass. Personally I myself would not buy a ford, I've always been Chevy/GMC Truck person...

I would stay away from a range rover, they really are not that reliable, and have many problems.

My brother's rover, has had the air suspension break and need replacement two times int he past year and a half. The car also eats brakes every few months, but that is also partly dues to the speeds he drives.

The rover though is a great looking truck, I think one of the best looking out there.

I would love to have a G-wagen, they are sweet.

Check it out: http://www.itsaboutthemusicstupid.com

I had to replace the brakes with Brembos as well as the standard brakes weren't so good. The Suburban's were even worse!

I agree with the reliability issues with the Range Rover. My father's had two of them and the trick to owning them is preventive maintenance. His 95 4.0 and his 97 4.6 HSE have had no major problems whatsoever. You just have to be religious about servicing the Range. Neglect it and you're faced with enormous repair bills. It's a pain but I really think it's one of the nicest looking SUVs out there.

The G wagens became really interesting to me once MB transferred production responsibility from the truck division to the passenger car division.

I can't, for the life of me, imagine myself in an X5. They're probably wonderful..it just seems wrong.

All,

I have become the inadvertant 500E/E500 Euro-headlight conversions. The Euro (and US) versions have driving instead of fog lights. The outer (low/high) section of the headlights differ between US and Euro. I have the Euro versions on my E420+ and Euro's on my 190E 2.3-16. The latter does not have inboard driving lights, however.

As I emailed Ashman, I happen to have a set of brand new pre-1994 500E Euro (Hella) lights in box if anyone is interested. Don't ask!
