Roald,

I guess the lens explains the difference in the beam pattern change from fog to driving. How much were the lenses? Maybe I'm going this route then!

Thanks!

Rainmaker- 500E lenses are about $85/each from Bekkers (http://www.bekkers.com).

However, my understanding is that the reflector and LENS are both different on the 500E.

Can anyone verify that it is only the lens?

Thanks,
:-) neil

Neil,

Aren't those lenses (the ones posted on the site) for regular W124 Euros? They were quoting me an absurd price for the Euro E500 assemblies...

Yes, the ones published on Bekkers website are for standard/regular Euro headlamps.

You need to call them for the Euro 500E lenses.

The guy that I was talking with was the guy who sells Mercedes parts.

He was pretty sure that the only difference was the glass.
They cost about 60 dollar a piece.(in Holland)

I will be there this week and I will ask him to look how much the complete headlight cost.

Under investigation

Roald

Hey...does your Brabus IV imitation wheels accept an OEM mercedes center cap? If not, then what did they supply you with? Are we going to meet up with you in Amsterdam or the Nurburgring over the Nov 10 weekend?

Yeah, Roald-we REALLY need to go for a ride on the Autobahn in a 500E, and neither I nor Jim can afford to ship ours

If we can hook up with you, it'll be a blast-Steve K.'s up for a little fun as I understand it
