Any Megasquirt wizards here/ the GM 749 Turbo ECM
From twm induction....
In the late 1980s a number of programmable aftermarket injection system ECUs arrived in the US, such as those manufactured by 034EFI, AEM, DFI (Accel), Electromotive, Felpro (FAST), Haltech, Hondata, Link, MoTeC, OnTronic 32-bit Fuel Injection, SDS, Split Second, and Wolf. These systems can be programmed “on line” by connecting them to an IBM-type personal computer. They allow the tuner access to the fuel maps for idle, transition, wide open throttle, cold start, turbo boost enrichment, and in some cases, ignition timing. I am an analouge guy and am going to tackle using the "magical" gm eprom 749 "turbo'ecm which seems to make all things possible and would appreciate any help with my Very basic questions in plain english(ipe). the 749 has two injector drivers, what does that mean?(ipe)-does it mean it can operate as tbi--batch fire, or as tpi-indiviual port injection, or a combo of Both with tpi kicking in for boost inrichment? the olds Quad4 used "Low impedence" "peak and hold" injectors- what does this mean (ipe)? are they good for a turbo setup? some of the 94-95 quad 4's were 185-190 hp-not bad for a NA gm 4 banger. I read om twm's site how placing the injectors further back in the runners can increase upper power as well as economy and plan on making an intake that can work either way with a flange halfway up the runners where the injectors could operate like throttlebody -or with ports in the head flange where i could have the usual. |

WOW you're working with some ancient technology. Good luck. I'm putting together a Megasquirt system for my 93 190e 2.3 and its been pretty straight forward and it has a ton of support.
