what diff is in the 560 sec?

sorry to keep going over this, but i have found a 560 sec diff, checking the vin says it is a 2.47 LSD. (this is what the vendor has told me on the phone),

have searched hear and benzworld, and am not sure which unit this will be, i 'think' it is a asd diff

was the 560 lsd a gleeson torsen unit, or was it asd? ie the hydraulic locker with the clutch packs? i will know by looking when i get there, ie asd has the hard line connecting across the top of the unit, but i would prefer to have a head start before hand.

gonna pick it up tomorrow, and along with the 6 speed, it should give the old girl best of both for accel and cruise/top speed.

"some mods improve your car and make it into something it never was, other mods, however, although essentially the same, are not, and make that car a ricer"

if your car isnt shiny, you dont know what you are talking about, remember; paint shine = knowledge. In order to be taken seriously, you should spend all your money on paint, (and get a dyno reading).
Dont forget to polish it often

The w126 560SEC can be had with 2.47 ASR, 2.47 LSD, and 2.47 open.

The LSD will have clutches.
Here is an internal shot of my 2.47 LSD. Notice the clutches on right side of the spider gear in the carrier.

Exterior wise, it should have a tag stating "Achtung: Spezial-Ol Sperrdifferential"
Which means "Attention: Special Oil limited slip differential"

2.47 LSD on left.

Top shot of 2.47 ASR mounted on subframe with cables running from top. As you noted LSD does not have it.

Sorry I can not give you a definitive answer. But my guess says no, the 2.47 LSD carrier for a w126 only fits a 2.47 ring gear.
