How much do the tailgate struts cost & are they easy to fit? Must get this job done as it's driving me (get it) to distraction. Either that or I could tie a piece of carpet to the back of my head...

I've got a 1993 E220TE, the rear tailgate is fine on cold days but when it's warm the tailgate comes down & hits me on the back of the head! Is this normal for a Merc? Must be some kind of punishment...
