R129 Hardtop Removal

On my '97 SL500 Sport the soft top control box is not funtioning and there is a leak in the hydraulics. Is there a way to remove the hardtop manually???. I can undo the front latches with an allen...

Harftop Removal

My top switch does nothing and I know the control box is faulty. I got the diagnosis from the dealer and have a new one on the way. I just want to get the hardtop off so that I can get to a leaking...

Thanks BobTerry... yes the one I found is part number 129-820-3926 for 1995 - 2000 SL's. I will tackle it as soon as I get the part but will most likely have some more questions.
