Odometer stuck on 86,000 miles

My guess is 130,000 based on when the owner bought the car and his driving habits since the odometer broke.

What does exhaust smoke indicate on an older Mercedes? It is not heavy smoke and it is not very light either....it seems to go away when driving. I see more of it when Idling.

Is there a resister that could cause battery drain....that's what I was told but that doesn't mean anything because the guy that told me this is a hobby type shade...

I purchased a 79 450 SEL with an odometer reading of 86,472 miles. How do I know if this is 186,472 or 286,472?

Does the odometer restart after 100,000 miles?
