Find a shop with a smog machine and have the expansion tank checked for hydro carbons.That should tell you if you have a blown head gasket.

Yes it is a open recall. But they will only do it two times. That's what I was told when I took my 85 Cali to the Dealer.

Mine was doing the same thing. One day it shot up to the top of the scale for a few seconds then droped back between 80 and 100. I replaced the thermostat and it stays a little below the mid way...

My 85 300dt was doing the same thing. I had it aligned after new tires and it still was wearing on the inside. So I took it to another shop and they told me it had been set to the wrong specs!

I had a similar problem. Just bad connections at pressure switch.I took pliers and squeezed the connectors . No problems since.

I measured the Hengst and the fram and found them...

I measured the Hengst and the fram and found them to be the same height.The seal in the bottom of the fram not only moves side to side but also up and down. Seems like oil could pass by the seal.

I had a loose piece of plastic that went under the rear bumper of my 85 300D that made a rattle. Just needed a screw to fix it.

Trans-X worked wonders on a 87 300d I had. It was shifting real hard until I added trans-x .
