I believe the instructions say to refill no more than two or three times. I have used the ink and syringe method to and it works. Black only. Would not fool with color.

As I remember there are two different thicknesses of pads. The slimmer fits both ATE and Bendix but the thicker could only be used in Bendix (or is this backwards - I forget).
