my sl did the same thing it only gets worst, until the whole thing starts to fall, I had to have a local guy remove the old and re-glue a new piece of cloth.

I have a 1990, 300Sl, It is seldom driven; however, I start it two or three times a month, it will start and run for 8 too 10 minutes, then stalls and will not start until I let it set for a couple...

I did the same thing, and my instrument cluster is doing the blinking and all the gauges do not work. Would appreciate any help.

I have a 1990 300sl and had the same problem, I tried everything regarding fuel parts, etc. The problem was the Rear Crankshaft Sensor. I replaced this part and the car runs great!
