Is it possible there is some type of damage to the timing device or intermediate shaft that would not be visible and cause the injection pump to not be driven properly?

I'm thinking as the ITD play is not in the whole mm range. And the pump is fairly easy to remove. I'll try and get my car on the road. And check the VP and ITD in a week. Then a month. Maybe drive it...

Already checked the Battery to Chassis Ground and the Engine to Chassis ground. Cleaned contacts and 0 ohms...
