Thanks guys, luck for me my garage has more black snakes then anything else in it so didn't find any rodents or rodent damage yet, however it took me a day to clean all the mud dobber wasp nest off...

In mid 2012 I had a few issues with my 1997 E420 and went to driving a beautiful 1990 560SEL I had instead. I never got back to the E420 and It was left garaged and untouched this entire time.

You are correct they are torx not hex, my bad....

So long story short I went to replace an ignition coil and found that the hex pattern in the bolt head was almost rounded out so my 5mm just turns inside the bolt without much contact but not enough...

I will agree with that, for some reason it skipped my mind and last night I got under the car as it was running. The front passenger side exhaust to the cat was glowing red hot at the neck as it goes...
