Tony, when you say 'lift pump' I assume you are meaning the stock pump. I am using a secondary electrical pump back at the tank, so I cannot plumb the return before it. I am having trouble imagining...

No, the return is looped when in veg mode to both prevent that from happening and to keep the fuel hotter (lower viscosity).
That does mean that less pressure will be needed by the pump, of course....
