Give it a healthy shot of ether (starting fluid) like you would a gasser and you are highly likely to blow a head gasket.

You use WD40 as starting fluid on a diesel.

People that had the 7.3 power smokes and didn't regularly check their coolant additives found the motors cavitating and in worst case situations hydrolocking on its own coolant.

The GM 5.7 diesel...
