you are certain that the muff is supposed to be painted body color?

i have never seen any benz or any other car in which that is true. all factory systems i have ever seen are galvanized. ansa...

i would not

think that the muffler was painted from the factory. aren't they usually bare metal? in that case i would just strip off the paint on the muffler.
