Guy from California did this about 3 years ago. Sorry not to have a link from the e-bay ad. He put some welded bars front to rear under the car and I believe one side-to-side cross bar with a hoop...

Four Door Convert

There was one person in Cali that did just that. Made caps for the cut off top parts. Strengthened the floor pans a little. Sold it on E-bay for about $2800 or so.
