This again does not describe the Saab 99 or 900, where all the plugs are equidistant from the transmission. So not all.

Saab 99 and 900 have cylinder #1 at the firewall,...

Saab 99 and 900 have cylinder #1 at the firewall, which is technically the front of the engine (timing-chain side). I don't know of any others.
