At dealer...replacement of that cable runs 2.5-3 hrs. Yes that is the part that fails MOST often.

Located on the right front of the transmission near the bell housing. USE vacuum pump to check for...

99% of the time the problem ISN'T the switch-over...

99% of the time the problem ISN'T the switch-over valve but a loss of supply OR leakage in the element that is part of the cable..

The switch-over valve is mounted to the left inner apron..next...

P1 700 means that the car isn't staying in gear...

P1 700 means that the car isn't staying in gear long enough durning a COLD operation of the engine..takes 2 consective days for that fault to appear.

Vacuum leaks are the most common problem..
