Well that's the problem, if there's no flow you'll still get a check engine light / fault codes. Flow is what makes the computer happy.

EDIT: It seems the computer might not be that sensitive, so...

So hooking up the egr valve to the clean side of the airbox works on the NA cars? Interesting, I would have thought the flow wouldn't be enough since the exhaust is under pressure.

On the 602 engines the computer cuts out the turbo. I don't know if it does a similar "limp mode" on the NA motors.
