Would it behoove me to wipe the colored paint from the springs in the kit before I install them?

I'm going out to get the ATF to replace right now, and I was hoping to install the large springs...

Does this apply at all to the 617 VCV configuration as well, or just the six-cans? I'm replacing my modulator today (it's leaking down in seconds,) and hoping that the spring on the old one...
