It turns out that the epoxy on the top of that stub worked (as well as fixing other shorts, but that was the last one).

I don't think there's any bushings there, and its a bit loose but no more...

My problem would be better described as intermittent grounding.

Movement with the shifter is the main factor to cause it to go on and stay on.

I did a continuity test on it with the wires...
