That is a possibility, however I don't have a boost gauge, nor do I know this particular turbo's efficiency range.. Seems pretty reckless to adjust it blindly.

I don't believe there is 'no way' to defeat it. It's possible that a epsi device may work, similar to those on tdi's. It tricks the ecu into thinking there is the proper amount of pressure drop...
