Are these gasketed or taper seat plugs? Autolites...

Are these gasketed or taper seat plugs? Autolites typically don't have the gaskets installed when you open the box.

Where is the 1 mm distance difference?

A timing chain issue won't cause this. It sounds like you are using protruded / extended nose plugs in an engine that has very little space between the piston and plug tip.
