Doing a bit more reading, it looks like the wagons use a different strainer and have a false bottom in the tank to allow it to work. The hex thing you show in the Second picture is the strainer....

Follow the fuel hoses coming out of the tank. One of them screws into the fuel strainer. It has a big hex-head on it.
